Victoria shrieked as bullets flew through the air and the sounds of gunshots filled the space between the densely packed trees. She and her party ran as fast as they could, dodging through lush, green boles and thick foliage. Edmond hobbled as quickly as he could, still able to keep pace with his younger companions as they fled the freedom fighters, more like guerrilla fighters, he thought.

Their breath created a mist in the air with each exhalation as the cold morning bit into them. Surprisingly, she didn't feel very cold, though. Although an occasional chill ran down her spine when the wind brushed past the back of her neck, a slight tug on the front of the thick scarf she wore quickly warmed her once more. She stared at the frozen pond before her as rays of morning sunlight danced across its icy surface. Would this really work? She was quite skeptical of his suggestion to 'have fun' by walking - no, skating - across the pond. There was no way the ice could hold their weight without sending them to their frigid demise.

Talia whistled in awe. The damage to the building and the books inside was significant, and the smoke had likely affected even the unburned books. She was surprised that the hospital had remained untouched by the blaze.
"Well, I guess we should take a look around and see if we can find anything."
Zephyr nodded. "We need to look for the source of the fire first."
"The police chief said they couldn't find what started the fire." Rose interjected.
"I mean the location where the fire started. Look for the most charred books, most ashes, worst smoke and fire damage. And especially if you find a badly burned book, tell me."

Rose stared out the window of the train as it pulled into the station. The area was surrounded by snowcapped mountains, and the window began to fog up with her breath. Zephyr had slept the entire train ride, eliciting sneers and jeers from Rose the whole way.
